Review:
Tim: The Wall is a 1962 propaganda film created to convey the evils of the Berlin Wall. It is interesting because it provides some fascinating footage of how the wall tore families apart and disrupted life in Berlin. It was striking to see the differences between East and West Berlin and the lives of the people in either half. The movie does a good job of informing the audience, despite its short run time.
What I like about this movie is that it makes the evils of Communism real. It puts a face on this horrible time in history and how it adversely effected peoples' lives. Now that communism isn't on the front page, we tend to forget about its influence in the world. Films like The Wall remind us of the effect Communism had.
So, this is an interesting film that tries to put a human face on the tragedy of the Berlin Wall. It's only 9 minutes long, so it's absolutely worth seeing.
