His newfound enthusiasm allows him to play the best tennis of his life. However, as he balances an unpredictable relationship, he also tries not to lose his winning touch so that he can end his career in glory.

Review:

Tim: Wimbledon is not only a good romantic comedy, but perhaps one of the greatest tennis movies of all time (partially true because of the appalling lack of tennis movies).

The romance in the film is pretty decent. Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany have quite a bit of chemistry together. They are likeable and fun to watch on screen. They both give very good performances. It is very hard to look like a tennis player, and both stars look like pros. It is also nice to see Bettany doing something successfully without Russell Crowe (or another leading man) forging the way. I sincerely hope he has a long and prosperous career. He is fun to watch.

The best parts of the movie are all the tennis sequences. The game of tennis has never looked better on the big screen. The special effects and the work put in to make the sports action look stunning is quite an achievement. I could watch the tennis ball go back and forth here all day.

I truly wish more tennis movie were made. It is a fun sport, and if done properly, looks amazing on the big screen. Tennis is sadly lacking in the sports movie department.

As far as romantic comedies go, this movie is a lightweight. The amazing tennis action makes up for it though. This is a good, but by no means great movie.
