Summary: Mobster Lazlo Gogolak (Kevin Pollack) kidnaps Cynthia (Natasha Henstridge) to get back at Jimmy (Bruce Willis). This forces Oz (Matthew Perry) to go to Jimmy and his wife Jill (Amanda Peet) to save her. Oz soon learns that there is more to all of this than meets the eye.

Review:

Tim: This is a wholly inferior sequel to the suprisingly excellent original film. This is proof that lightning doesn't strike the same place twice, because the first film being as good as it was happened to be a small miracle. This movie isn't even close to that. This is a classic example of Hollywood cranking out sequels to make money without caring too much about making a good film. I'm glad this film didn't do well financially, although I know it won't teach anyone a lesson.

The humor has stopped being fresh and clever and has become tired and juvenile. I still like the pairing of Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry, and Amanda Peet and Natasha Henstridge round out the foursome very well. However, they are all caught up in a mess of a movie that none of them can do anything about.

There are a few rare moments of excellent humor. The morning after a night of drinking by Willis and Perry is actually pretty funny and a highlight of the film.

The film suffers most because the plot is ridiculous. There is supposed to be a big surprise at the end, but the whole film leading up to that point is such a confusing mess that it doesn't even matter how it turns out. Things happen throughout the movie with no reason as to why.

Even worse, The Whole Ten Yards isn't even entertaining. It isn't so bad that you will want to get up and turn it off, but you won't be entralled, either.

If you are tempted to watch this film, I'd advise you to just go back and watch the original again. Let's keep our fingers crossed and pray they don't make the mistake of trying to turn this into a trilogy.
