Review:
Tim: This is a pretty decent movies, but that is because it has a very strong source material. The story of an ordinary man taking the law into his own hands to clean up a town is a story we can all get behind.
The film has a good amount of action. The Rock is a terrific action hero, and he proves it even further here. This movie actually has quite a bit of painful moments- broken arms, knife stabbings, etc, all shown in pretty gritty fashion.
The main problem with the film is that it is too short. You will almost never hear me say this, but the movie just can't tell the story as well as it need to in a little over 80 minutes. The characters aren't developeed enough at all. The movie takes a long time to get going, then has to quickly wrap everything up. The film reaches a frantic pace trying to end as quickly as possible. They should have taken their time and lengthened the movie by 20 minutes. The end comes far too quickly and not enough resolution occurs.
I like the idea and the message behind the moive. A few flaws prevent this from being great, but it easily could have been.
