Summary: New England college students find themselves in the middle of a series of murders inspired by urban legends. As the local fraterinites plan to celebrate the anniversary of their own legend- a student massacre at the hands of a psychology professor- the real murderer is loose, and it's up to a small group of students to stop the crazed killer, before they end up just another urban legend.

Review:

Tim: Urban Legends takes the horror film on an interesting twist, basing the murders on various urban legends. The most interesting aspect of the film is that you will recognize all the urban legends, and in many cases, at one time believed them to be true. That is the most interesting aspect of the film, but unfortunetely is the only interesting aspect of the film. The actors in the film all played their parts well, but the characters are horrible in themselves. None of them are memorable, and none are all that likeable. The plot is incredibly predictable, but does toss in several twists and turns. While you won't guess who the killer is, when you do find out, it's not some gasping realization- you just accept it as another silly part of this very silly movie.

Nothing in this entire life is outstanding or special. Urban Legends is a very mediocre horror film. If you're in the mood for horror, I suggest you look elsewhere, but if you do wish to see this movie, it might bore you, but it won't kill you(!!!!). Teenagers will enjoy this film, but if you're looking for a film with some intelligence and some entertaining factors, this one won't be it. The death scenes aren't even that spectacular, and don't measure up to Scream or I Know What You Did Last Summer. The bottom line is, Urban Legends will never be above a mediocre film, and I for one will not be upset if I never see this film again. Once is enough.
