Summary: A group of meteorologists are pursuing tornadoes in an attempt to obtain enough information to improve warning systems for dangerous weather. The worst storm system in 50 years sweeps through Amercia's Tornado Alley, and the meteorologists must not only get the data they need, but survive the weather as well.

Review:

Tim: You've heard it a million times, but this film did for tornadoes what Jaws did for sharks. The twisters in this film are practically actors themselves. The special effects are so amazing, that when the twisters come on the screen, you really feel like you are right there. The film is incredibly intense, as you see houses ripped to shreds, objects suddenly becoming missiles- like cars, cows, and all sorts of debris. You'll never look at a Tornado warning the same way again once you see the monsters in this film destroy unmercifully.

Bill Paxton is quite good in this film. He usually doesn't possess the charisma and style to carry a movie, but here he does so wonderfully. Oftentimes I don't like him in films, but here, he is amazing. He gets a lot of help from Helen Hunt, who is simply superb throughout the film. It was after seeing her in this film that I gained a lot of respect for her, and I really appreciate and admire her work. She and Paxton actually have a good deal of chemistry throughout the film, even at times when they shouldn't. The rest of the supporting cast brings a great deal to the film, especially Cary Elwes, who is just a real asshole. He plays his role quite well.

This film is quite remarkable, and simply begs to be seen. Twister is one intense ride from beginning to end. You'll enjoy the film immensely, and marvel at the awesome power and strength of the twisters on screen. This film is intense, entertaining, and most importantly- fun.
