Review:
Tim: Tom Hanks is hilarious. Most of you should know by now that he is my all-time favorite actor. He has done some powerful dramas, like Forrest Gump, Philadelphia, and Saving Private Ryan,. However, in the 1980's, he was the king of comedy (in many ways). Sure, this film wasn't as big (haha) or successful as Big (now get it?) or some of his other hits. But this is a good movie.
Hanks really is this film. Without him it would have been awful. This really shows the ability of this actor to make a film. I admit the cop/dog movie has been done numerous times, but never with such a fine actor at its front. The film is worth seeing just because of Hanks.
The best scenes in the movie are the ones with Hanks interacting with Hooch. The stakeout scene is absolutely wonderful. I remember hearing years ago that during that scene, they put Hanks and the dog in the car, and said to Hanks, "Okay, be funny!" The result is tremendous and one of the best scenes in the film. This is a good movie, I don't care who might disagree with me (although I definitely admit its flaws as my rating says). Just check it out.
