Review:

Tim: James Cameron directs an absolutely amazing action film. The action genre often gets a bad rap for being stale and uninspiring. This film stands out- it is fresh, exciting, and quite a bit of fun. Cameron gives us a film with excellent characters and some incredible action sequences.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is fantastic as a spy, whose profession is unknow even to his wife. he accounts for some hilarious moments, delivering some truly funny lines. My favorite has to be, "Yes, but they were all bad." That is so great. Jamie Lee Curtis gives a steamy, superb performance. She works so well with Schwarzenegger, and is just so fun to watch. Tom Arnold provides very good supporting work, and adds in some comedic moments himself.

The action sequences are remarkable. True Lies was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. The bridge sequence is unbelievably cool, with the Marine harriers, explosions galore, and the famous helicopter rescue sequence. This whole part of the film is just incredible and wildly enjoyable to watch. This film works so well because of the balance between the incredible characters and the incredible action scenes they find themselves in. Watch for the truth serum scene, because it is fantastic.

True Lies proved to be an original, solid entry into the action genre, and its prestige has only increased as it has stood the test of time.
