Review:

Tim: Tombstone is a truly excellent Western. The movie combines action, drama, and a terrific portrayal of Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday to end up with a very memorable movie. The story has made it to the big screen numerous times, but this is one of the best versions.

The film deserves most of its success because of the cast. Kurt Russell makes an excellent Wyatt Earp. He's terrific in the film. However, his performance, and the performances of everyone else in the film are completely overshadowed by the performance of Val Kilmer. His Doc Holliday is perhaps the best of all time. He is incredibly memorable, so much fun to watch, and just great on screen. Kilmer and Russell interact so well together. They have great chemistry together. Sam Elliott and Bill Paxton both put in very good performances as well. There are so many great actors in the film as well, from Thomas Haden Church to Charlton Heston to Billy Bob Thornton. The cast is superb.

The action scenes are impressive, and well balanced out with the more dramatic ones. Tombstone is a great movie, and one of the best Westerns of the last two decades.
