Review:
Tim: This film surprisingly manages to be both a very good golf movie and a very good romantic comedy. It has a fun quality and feel it that most films don't have- it is a truly enjoyable. Tin Cup is also a pretty powerful drama and offers some remarkable insights into both golf and life. Ladies and gentlemen, it is not easy to find one film that has all this.

Kevin Costner gives one of his better performances here, reminiscent of his role in Field of Dreams. The man occasionally makes some horrible bombs, but he sure knows how to make a good sports movie.

Rene Russo is incredibly likeable and has quite a lot of charm. Her chemistry with Costner is undeniable and fun to watch. They make a good on screen pair.

Every good golf movie needs a slick but "bad guy" golf ace. Don Johnson fits the bill perfectly. He is incredible at making us not like his character.

In some inspired casting, Cheech Marin is outstanding as Costner's caddy. He and Costner have chemistry to rival Russo and Costner's. It is very fun to watch these two actors together.

Tin Cup is a sports romantic comeedy that has quite a bit of substance to it. It is definitely a hole-in-one.
