Summary: Three carefree bachelors (Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, Ted Danson) have their lives changed when a baby shows up on their doorstep one day, belonging to one of the men who didn't even know she existed. At first they are very upset about it, but they soon grow to love her, and their lives are changed.

Review:
Tim: This is a good film that had every reason to be outstanding. What a brilliant concept- the lives of three carefree bachelors are changed forever when a baby girl enters their lives. I know this is based on a previous movie, but this formula is nearly flawless.

The film continues its success with the casting. Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson are ideal in their roles (in the 80s, anyway), and their transformation by film's end is very believable. It is so much fun to watch how their lives are altered by something they know nothing about. What could be funnier than watching three grown men struggle with changing diapers, grocery shopping, and translating a baby's cries into what she actually needs? These are the most charming and fun parts of the film.

The subplot with the heroin is completely beyond me. I cannot fathom why it is in the movie, because it is totally out of place and clashes with the whole purpose of the movie. Our time is wasted on this subject, when it should have been spent further exploring the growing relationship between the three men and their baby. The heorin scenes stick out like sore thumb.

Three Men and a Baby is mostly an excellent film. The flaws bring it down, but you should still enjoy yourself.
