Review:
Tim: This is one of the classic comedy films, a movie that many people just love. I don't feel quite as strongly as they do. This movie is funny and well made, but I don't think this is nearly as hilarious as people make it out to be. There are some great moments, but overall, the film is mostly just average. It is enjoyable, but not extremely memorable.
Rob Reiner does a good job of balancing out the more serious "documentary" side of the film with the absurd, silly, occasionally funny moments of the band's craziness. These are the best moments of the film, and the movie is incredibly quotable. There are several quite funny ones.
I doubt that most people will feel the same way I do about this movie. For some reason, most people seem to love it. Oh well. This is Spinal Tap is an occasionally funny mockumentary that manages to give us a few memorable moments and will at the least entertain you. I don't believe it's a great movie, but you can do far worse.
