Summary: Ben Stiller plays a nerd that falls in love with a girl named Mary (Cameron Diaz) in high school. The pair were supposed to go to prom together, but an small accident prevented him from going. He can't stop thinking about her, even many years later. He hires a private investigator (Matt Dillon)to look up her number and to find out if she has any kids. The investigator ends up falling in love with Mary, too. This has been a pattern with many of the guys that get to know her, even those that just see her- because there is just "something about Mary" As multiple men try for her hand, Mary must decide which lucky admirer will ultimately end up with her. Review:

Tim: It took me forever to see this movie for the first time, so I had already heard how incredibly funny it was. After hearing all that, the movie, of course, would be a bit of a letdown. However, I didn't let that effect my judgement of the film. There's Something About Mary is indeed a hilarious movie. While I don't think it is nearly as funny as everyone makes it out to be, it is nevertheless, a funny film. Stiller and Diaz do tremendous jobs, and Matt Dillon is very good as well- I didn't think he could be as funny as he was in this film.

While this movie isn't the funniest one I've ever seen, the humor is quite good. In fact, while watching this movie, I felt the genius behind the humor. The Farrelly Brothers did have a stroke of genius when they created this film, and that alone is definitely worth taking your time to see. I recommend this film, if not for the very funny scenes, do it for the pure genius behind this film.
