Review:

Tim: This is a film that could have been wildly enjoyable, but for a variety of reasons, fails to live up to its potential. The story itself is funny, and ripe for comedy. Suprisingly, what detracts from the film is Michael Myers.

Myers is decent as the lead, but he seemed too out of control with his comedy. His slam poetry readings are just absurd, and were among the worst parts of the movie for me. Myers is excellent in his secondary role as the Scottish father of his main character. He has perhaps the film's funniest scene, going on and on about his son's gigantic head. I laugh every time I see it. But, it doesn't have much to do with the rest of the movie.

The film goes along well for a while, but as it gears up for its big finale, it seems to unravel. The film ends in pretty ridiculous fashion, which takes away from any goodwill it might have built up.

So I Married an Axe Murderer is a film that could have been much better, but is too silly for its own good. It will provide a few laughs, but not much more than that.
