Review:

Tim: This story is obviously based on the classic story, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, by Washington Irving. It's been told for decades in this country. Happily, Tim Burton puts a slight twist on the old story and makes it more interesting and enjoyable to watch. He also had help from Producer Francis Ford Coppola. The pairing of these two should tell you a great deal about the type of movie this will be.

Sleepy Hollow is a dark, frightening film. Burton's take on the old story is pretty fascinating. Crane's character is more interesting than ever, and has a good love interest in Christina Ricci's character.

Johnny Depp is a wonderful actor, and gives a good performance here. He and Ricci were perfect for roles in a creepy film.

Sleepy Hollow is quite an enjoyable film. It somewhat updates and retells the old Irving story, has a great cast, and enough of the supernatural to keep you at least near the edge of your seat. Perhaps the most interesting casting is Christopher Walken as the Headless Horseman. Walken is one creepy guy, and is perfect for the role. Its humorous to think you have Johnny Depp who's played such odd roles as in Edward Scissorhands, Christina Ricci, who was scary as hell as Wednesday in The Addams Family, and then throw in Christopher Walken!?! This film is like a who's who of creepy actors. All we need now is that guy from Willard.

All joking aside, this is a good film that deserves your viewing. I'd encourage you to pick it up, sit back, and enjoy one creepy ride.
