Review:

Tim: Spider-Ham: Caught in a Ham is a short film that accompanied Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. That movie introduced us to multiple versions of Spider-Man, including Peter Porker. There was a lot happening in that film, and Spider-Ham probably didn't get quite as much screen time as some of the other versions of the iconic superhero. In that film, Spider-Ham was certainly the most unique version that showed up, so it was worthwhile for him to get a little of the spotlight in his own short film.

The film plays out just like one of the old Looney Tunes shorts. That's the look and feel of the film as well as the character. I can't say anything depicted on screen was brilliant, but it was a fun little short that was entertaining and paid homage to those older shorts. You get a lot of puns, a lot of zany action that defies the laws of physics, and a lot of wink-wink humor. It's all fairly enjoyable.

This short film also connects to the feature film, so it does shed a little more light on the overall story. While there's nothing remarkable about Spider-Ham: Caught in a Ham, it's a fun short and it's worth checking out.
