Review:

Tim: It might sound silly, but Snowball Fight is the type of movie that reminds me why I love going to the movies. The best films have the ability to transport us to different places. Sure, that can be other worlds, but it can also be in the middle of a small street, smack dab in a big snowball fight. This short little movie really makes me happy. It's just fun to suddenly be right in the middle of all the action.

What I love about this film is that this would never happen today. You wouldn't see a bunch of adults going all out in a snowball fight. With lawsuits, guns and violence, there's just too much risk. I love the glee you can see on people's faces as they playfully fight each other with snow. A guy on a bike rides right in the middle of the snowball fight (not smart, dude. Not smart). The snowballers all gang up and pelt him with snow to the point where he actually falls off his bike (it looks a little painful, but no one seems to care). He gets up, retrieves his bike, and most hilariously, rides back the way he came. I love this aspect of the film. I just wonder, where was he going, and what would he say about why he couldn't get there? "I'm sorry, wife, I know we need bread, but I could not make it through the snowballers!" He even loses his hat, and abandons it as he rides for his life.

I really did enjoy this whimsical, fun little film. This is one of the better Lumiere films, and a movie that really packs a lot of entertainment in a very short run time.
