Review:

Tim: This very short Edison film features a vaudville performer displaying his routine for the camera. We watch a talented contortionist as he twists, turns, and moves his body in ways that defy the physical limits of the human body. I am always impressed when I see people who have developed themselves far past the point of fellow people. That is what we see here.

Luis Martinetti is obviously a talented performer. As with most of these early, early shorts, the film ends far too soon (it clocks in under 30 seconds- yikes!). Still, this is an interesting look at a vaudville performer in the mid 1890s.

While Luis Martinetti, Contortionist is an interesting film, it's just too short to warrant going to any trouble to track it down. Film fans eager to see some of the earliest motion pictures will enjoy this film, but it's probably not for the average movie viewer.
