Summary: A small goose tries to hitchhike south.

Review:

Tim: The Goose Goes South is a perfectly average short animated film. A small goose is trying to make his way south and instead of flying, tries to hitchhike. It's a pretty straightforward little cartoon. Like many of them from this era, there's a lot thrown on the screen but not a whole lot sticks.

As the goose tries to make his way south, there's a few repeating gags that I suppose are supposed to get funnier the more they happen? I don't know. The repetition didn't really have that effect on me. None of them were especially funny. The film seemed very much geared towards young audiences (obviously) but there wasn't much of an incentive to do anything besides the lowest common denominator storytelling. Everything here was perfectly okay, but there wasn't much that truly interested or excited. The short film was completely fine, never very good, though. The animation was decent.

There's nothing wrong with this film, but it's clearly not one of the better ones of this era. It doesn't feature any memorable characters and the story is pretty basic. It's not especially funny. The Goose Goes South isn't bad, but it's unremarkable.
