Review:

Tim: How can you not love a movie that pits nerds against jocks and actually allows the nerds to win? Every real life nerd can draw inspiration from this movie, and every non-nerd (me, for instance) can still enjoy the movie for its heart and the hope it gives to so many. There is something quaint and endearing about a group of hapless nerds finally getting some revenge.

This is also a college fraternity movie, so anticipate the usual antics associated with that type of film. The Greek Homecoming competition is pretty entertaining. The javelin throw is particularly hilarious.

Anthony Edwards and Robert Carradine are good as the two lead nerds. The rest of the cast is just decent, except for John Goodman, who stands out as very enjoyable in the role of the head coach.

The movie isn't an example of terrific filmmaking, but there are enough laughs to keep you fairly entertained throughout. If you're not a nerd, then this film is still worth a look, but I wouldn't rush out and buy a copy. In some ways, I suppose this is a cult classic, so in that sense, I recommend you see it at least once.
