Summary: In an attempt to cover up the fast moving virus that has now infiltrated Racoon City, the Umbrella Corporation contemplates releasing the deadly Nemesis to destroy everyone it finds. Stuck in the city, Alice (Milla Jovovich) teams up with a small band of survivors to battle Nemesis, Umbrella, and to escape alive.

Review:

Tim: This is a sequel that brings the series closer to the video game, but that's not necessarily a bad thing (Although it can be in many other franchises). There is much more action this time around, but the movie is also much less plausible.

Taking the film out of the Hive and into Racoon City opens the film up, making it seem bigger and also more important.

Milla Jovovich is very good once again as Alice, but I don't so much like her Ripley-like(think Aliens) turn of more powers. It feels far too similar to the Alien movies with Sigourney Weaver. The supporting cast is all pretty decent, especially Sienna Guillory. The only person I didn't like was Mike Epps. I really can't stand the guy, and I have no idea why I feel so strongly about him. He is supposed to provide comedic relief, but he one of the least funny people I've ever seen on the big screen.

The Nemesis project was pretty interesting, as if the final showdown between it and Alice.

All this being said, this is still a zombie movie based on a video game, and falls into the weaknesses and cliches of those subgenres. The movie is pretty ridiculous. I can even believe the zombies, but when Alice performs some absurd stunts, the nuclear bomb, and even the result of Nemesis is just a bit too hard to believe. Plus, why does the film take 20 minutes longer to finish up than is needed? I really liked the beginning, but grew tired of it by the end.
