Review:

Tim: Indiana Jones is one of the greatest cinematic characters ever created. I grew up absolutely loving these movies, and this, the first one, always has to have a special place in your heart. The combined genius of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg shines on the big screen. This is a very fun film. From beginning to end, it makes for an entertaining ride that you won't soon forget.

Harrison Ford was the perfect choice for Jones. No other actor in Hollywood could have pulled off the role better. Whether it is an intense fight scene, or Indiana shrugging and smiling good-naturedly in the thick of battle, Ford personifies the rugged action hero, while bringing intelligence to the character as well.

Raiders of the Ark is one of the greatest action movies of all time. It is widely known as a benchmark of movie-making success. Decades after it originally debuted, it is still beloved by millions of Americans. Who can't hum the Indiana Jones theme music, or recall the famous line, "Snakes... why did it have to be snakes?" or remember hearing about the famous scene where Ford was supposed to fight an Arab with a huge sword, but due to illness and dehydration, he pulled his gun out instead and shot him? (and as a result, Spielberg changed the scene because it was so brilliant). This film spawned two sequels, and set itself up as one of the greatest action-adventure trilogies of all time. Everyone needs to see this movie. If you haven't, then you are missing out on one of the greatest American films of all time.
