Summary: FBI Agent Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves) goes undercover as a surfer on the suggestion by his partner (Gary Busey) to infiltrate a band of adrenaline junkies led by a man (Patrick Swayze) obsessed with surfing and all things extreme, because they are suspected to also be a gang of bank robbers.
Review:
Tim: This is an action movie that is surprisingly better than it should be. It is actually great fun to watch adrenaline junkies robbing banks for kicks.
Keanu Reeves is dull as always, but it works for his character, Johnny Utah (one of the coolest names of all time- I wish it was mine).
Patrick Swayze is an incredible "bad guy". He is one of the most likeable characters I've seen in a while. He and Reeves make a very good pair. They seem to have fun together and work off each others' energy.
Lori Petty is spunky and fun. She displays the same likeable characteristics and charm that will make her so great in A League of Their Own.
Gary Busey is an excellent partner for Reeve's character. He is a good addition to the cast.
Point Break is a clever action thriller that beautifully combines bank robbers, FBI agents, and surfers into an exciting, oftentimes intense ride that you won't soon forget. The film has a great cast and great action. I really like this movie.
