Review:

Tim: This is an independent film that tells a very big story, and surprisingly, never seems small. This is a movie that just oozes wisdom, and can offer some helpful insights into life. It never feels preachy or arrogant. It offers its wisdom in a very humble manner. It tells a beautiful story in a powerful, incredible way. This is a remarkable, memorable film.

The story really hits home. Our protagonist is a man who has everything- he's a world class athlete, get straight A's, and has a slew of women after him. Like so many of us, despite his blessings, he feels an emptiness, and does not feel happy. His journey is the journey we must all make- a journey into ourselves. Scott Mechlowicz plays this part superbly. Nick Nolte plays the wise and mysterious Socrates. He is such a great character, and Nolte plays him excellently. He is the funniest, most memorable part of the film. Amy Smart is enjoyable, in her smaller role. The cast are all wonderful.

The film has some great scenes, almost all revolving around Socrates. He has some very memorable and insightful lines. The bridge scene is just hilarious. I also love the scene after the three hour hike. These scenes just epitomize what this movie is all about. There are many others- the motorcycle scene, sitting on the car, etc.

Peaceful Warrior is a small, independent film that feels bigger than it is. It tells a very inspirational story that should resonate with all of us. It urges us to begin the greatest adventure of our life- the journey into ourselves, the transformation from what we are to what we could be- the transition from ordinary people into peaceful warriors.
