Review:

Tim: This is a tremendous movie. It is so interesting and engaging. So often big screen biographies are not the easiest films to make. Patton is done with such masterly skill and attention to detail that it feels less like you're watching a biography and more like you're watching a really good war film.

When you mention Patton, you have to mention the opening scene of Patton's speech with the American flag behind him. It still goes down in history as one of the most patriotic and best speeches in cinematic history.

George C. Scott is outstanding in this film. He definitely deserved his Academy Award. Even more interesting than his performance or his Oscar is the fact that Scott refused to accept the award. If you're not familar with the story, you might want to read up on it, because its worth knowing about.

Patton is portrayed so well in this film. Perhaps the best aspect of his character is just that he is so funny. Some of the dialogue in the film is just so clever and funny. It is the best part of the film. Watch for this line- "Rommel, you beautiful son-of-a-bitch, I read your book!" Hilarious.

Patton is an achievement in filmmaking, and any movie lover has to have seen this film. It won an Academy Award for Best Picture, and truly earned it. You need to see this movie.
