Review:

Tim: This is surprisingly better than it should be. I was really excited for a film to comment on the relentless and oftentimes dangerous actions of the paparazzi. The film really portrays the paparazzi as vile scum (which I believe they are) and it is easy to hate them and their tactics.

Cole Hauser does a good job leading the film. He is believable as an action hero as well as a man driven to revengeful murder. Tom Sizemore is horrendously sinister and we immediately hate him. He really evokes strong emotion from us. Robin Tunney doesn't have much to do and makes no impact. Dennis Farina adds in his good supporting role as a detective.

One of the highlights of the film are the excellent cameos. Mel Gibson and Chris Rock are both hilarious, for different reasons as you will see.

Paparazzi is a very intense thriller. Ultimately, the film is flawed and somewhat ridiculous. However, the movie is exciting and evokes a range of emotions from us. While this movie isn't the greatest, it is a good example of a movie that stretches to be as good as it can be. It is enjoyable to watch.
