Review:

Tim: I believe I remember hearing Steven Soderbergh call this movie, "What Ocean's Twelve should have been." That is an accurate way to describe this film. While I still enjoyed the first sequel, this movie returns the Ocean franchise to where it needs to be. This movie is incredibly entertaining, funny, and memorable. It serves as a worthwhile entry into this film series. It really is an enjoyable movie.

George Clooney and Brad Pitt are once again spectacular. They are so fun to watch together- their friendship is obvious and entertaining on screen. I love that they have several ridiculous conversations that we only catch midway through- this accounts for a number of laughs. Matt Damon has really come into his own, making a terrific partner to the Clooney-Pitt duo. These three are always entertaining to watch.

I was also very impressed with the supporting cast. Don Cheadle doesn't have a great deal to do, but he does have several hilarious scenes. I really enjoyed Andy Garcia in his quite different role. Al Pacino makes an amazing addition to the cast. He is sinister, selfish, and makes you want to see him fall. The rest of Ocean's gang are all quite good as well. At this point, we've come to know all these characters quite well, and it is like seeing old friends again as we watch the movie.

One of the best improvements of this film involves the plot. Like the original, this movie takes place in a casino, and involves an elaborate, seeingly impossible con. The stakes are definitely raised here. The film unveils the plot quite memorably, setting everything up and then allowing us to sit back and marvel at how Ocean's team will pull it off. This accounts for a great deal of suspense (and laughs as well).

Ocean's Thirteen does so much right, and it is another slick, entertaining film in this franchise. I really enjoyed this film, and although I wouldn't mind a fourth (I'll say right now I doubt that will ever happen), I am content and satisfied with this being the last Ocean movie. It goes out on top.
