Review:

Tim: This was quite an entertaining film. The cast was remarkable. Its always great to see so many fine actors working together on a single film. George Clooney headlines the show as Danny Ocean, and does a remarkable job, bringing both intelligence and charm to the role. He plays the part effortlessly and with brilliance. Brad Pitt is actually very good in the film. I still wonder why he is eating in nearly every single scene, but he is slick and suave, and also has that element of superior intelligence you find in characters whom you really like. He simply oozes confidence. Pitt and Clooney make an incredible pair on the big screen. I hope they work together many more times in the future.

Julia Roberts didn't have a whole lot to do in the film, but she was quite good as well. She and Clooney have the memorable exchange: Clooney: "Does he make you laugh?" Roberts: "He doesn't make me cry." Its quite good, and the chemistry/heartache between these two characters is worth seeing. The rest of the supporting cast is excellent as well, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle are both superb in particular.

Andy Garcia gets to play the role of the lone villain against Danny's eleven, and he does so convincingly. It's easy for his performance to be overshadowed, because of the likeability of the rest of the cast, but his role is vital to the film, and helps it to succeed. He is a terrific actor and adds a great element to the film.

Ocean's Eleven isn't a bad film to see. At its best, it is a fun, intelligent crime flick. At its worst, it's slow and has a few boring moments. However, the plot is slick and the film does have some good action/suspense scenes that will keep you entertained. The best aspect of this film is the cast, which is the real reason to see this movie. They obviously had a great deal of fun making the movie, and that translates to a great deal of fun for us, watching the movie. Add in some incredible dialogue for the cast to work with, and you have a hit. You can do better than this movie, but not by too much.
