Review:

Tim: This film features one of the oddest pairings in buddy movies. At first glance, Tim Robbins and Martin Lawrence do not seem like the perfect pair, yet the chemistry between them is undeniable and irresistable. They are absolutely hilarious together. Whoever first thought to put these two great actors together is a genius. They feed off each other, and make for very entertaining comedy.

In his movies, Martin Lawrence is either really, really funny, or really, really bad. There is no in-between for him. In Big Momma's House, he was really, really funny, in Blue Streak and Life, he was really, really bad. Here, he is hilarious. I love hearing his, "Why you keep on spankin me, momma?" line, I crack up every time I hear it.

Nothing to Lose is such a good movie. It is a comedy unlike most you've seen with buddies unlike any before them. Robbins' straight-laced yet given-up-hope-on-life role meshes beautifully with Lawrence's everything-is-a-joke-I'm-a-bad-ass-but-not-really role. Their love/hatred relationship makes for some of the finest comedy I've ever seen. This movie is hilarious. If the lead actors' chemistry wasn't enough, the film also has some incredible writing. Perhaps my favorite line in the entire film doesn't even come from Robbins or Lawrence. It's the, "You must be really fast" line. Trust me, its not funny now, but watch the movie and you'll understand... and you will be rolling with laughter.

As far as buddy movies go, this one should be seen just for the strange pairing. If not for that, see it because it is downright one of the funniest comedies' you can find.
