Review:

Tim: This movie is a landmark horror film. It changed the expectations people had of what a horror movie is all about. The film used camera techniques that made the picture look like it was shot from a home video camera. This added to the chilling atmosphere that pervades the film.

No one can dispute the importance of Romero's classic horror movie. It set the standard for zombie movies, which many have tried to reach but could not. Horror fans owe it to themselves to see this movie.

Now, all this being said, I contend that this movie must have been so terribly frightening when it was first released. It was probably one of the most frightening movies ever made... at the time. This film has not aged well, and it is difficult to enjoy. Some movies age well, or if they don't, you can still tell it was amazing for its time. This movie just seems silly by today's standards, which really affects the modern movie goer's experience. I still recommend seeing this film for its importance, although I didn't completely love it while I was watching.
