Summary:Computer expert Angela Bennett (Sandra Bullock) goes on vacation to get away from her work specializing in computer viruses. Little does she know that a friend sent her a "virus" which is the code that could unlock a national conspiracy by cyberhackers. To get the information they want, they completely erase all evidence that Angela existed. Now, she must fight to get her identity back and stay alive.

Review:

Tim: When this film came out, this was a relatively novel idea- the way computers run our lives and can be manipulated. Although now quite outdated, it is still a very interesting movie to watch. In many ways, our society has become so dependent on computers. If a cyberhacker was clever enough and security was not strong enough, there is no telling what could be done via computer.

This is an interesting movie that mixes action and suspense while commenting on the technological dependence of our society. Sandra Bullock is great as always, although the rest of the cast is less than spectacular (Dennis Miller included). This is a good film, but a small one in many ways.

I would recommend seeing this, simply because Bullock gives a strong performance, and it truly is interesting to watch the many ways computers control our lives. Don't worry, the film is suspenseful enough to keep you interested throughout. The Net may not be a tremendous film, but its not too bad, either.
