Review:

Tim: This is hands down one of the greatest baseball movies of all time. Make no mistake about it, this is an incredibly good movie. The story of Roy Hobbs is powerful, emotional, and quite inspirational. It has more kick to it than your average sports movie.

Robert Redford is just fantastic as Hobbs. He looks like a ballplayer, and he gives a powerhouse performance. Glenn Close does a good job in her supporting role, and was nominated for an Academy Award. The rest of the supporting cast all work well.

The film was nominated for 4 Academy Awards, including Best Original Score. The music is absolutely astounding. Randy Newman did a terrific job with the score. It is perfectly inspirational and uplifting.

This film has some truly memorable scenes. The first at-bat we see Hobbs take is just unbelievably cool. However, this doesn't even compare to the film's clima. This is one of the greatest hits you will ever see on screen,a ndit stands as the film's iconic, unforgettable image.

This is just a beautiful baseball movie, almost a shrine to our nation's pasttime. Hobbs is everything we want from a baseball hero, from his love of the game, down to his excalibur-like bat, Wonderboy. This Arthurian tale is extraordinary. The Natural is a beautifully crafted film, standing as one of the greatest sports movies ever made. No matter your taste in movies, you should enjoy this film. It transcends genres and offers some truly memorable scenes. I truly love this movie, and you will find it very hard to disagree.
