Review:

Tim: This movie might have been funny, but it simply is not. It seems like the perfect vehicle for Jack Black, giving him ample room to showcase his comedic skills. The problem is that this movie is just stupid, not funny, and surprisingly boring. There is very little to be happy about here.

Jack Black approaches the role as you'd expect. However, we never really care about his character, possibly because he's just so stupid. The fact that he is trying to sleep with a Catholic nun probably doesn't help matters. Ana de la Reguera is quite excellent as the object of Black's affection. The role was too small for her, but she's quite good in it. The rest of the supporting cast isn't great at all.

I just did not find the movie funny. It was predictable, shallow, and even the wrestling scenes are void of real action and excitement. There is almost nothing to find enjoyable here. Nacho Libre is a disappointing movie, featuring nothing but juvenile humor (and not even good juvenile humor at that). Jack Black is mostly unfunny, and evokes nothing but boredom and a bit of bewilderment at the whole thing.
