Review:

Tim: I love Shakespeare and although I'm not the biggest fan of his comedies, I appreciate his genius and this is one of his best. Even better, this film is a faithful and entertaining adaptation of his work to the silver screen. The cast is very good. Denzel Washington is fantastic. I love that in addition to regular Shakespearean actors Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson, some different actors were brought in, too. Keanu Reeves doing Shakespeare is something I never imagined I'd see. Surprisingly, he doesn't butcher the part, although he doesn't blow it away, either. Michael Keaton is fantastic and makes my least favorite character in the play one of the bst on screen.

If you know very little of Shakespeare's comedies, this is an excellent film to introduce yourself to them. The story is pretty incredible and some familiar actors will help guide you through the dialogue. This film makes me desperate for more Shakespeare movies, as long as they are all done equally as well as this. Branagh assembles a very good cast. I was especially impressed with Washington's performance. He gains a few more points in my book for his wonderful acting. Much Ado About Nothing is, in all mannners, a very good movie.
