Summary: A man (James Belushi) wanders into a bar late one night after his car breaks down. There, he encounters a strange bartender (Michael Caine), who offers him the chance to relive his life over. By going to his high school days and hitting a game-winning homerun, his entire life was changed.

Review:

Tim: This movie (with a great cast) puts a comedic spin on movies like It's a Wonderful Life. It is a fairly decent film, although it follows the typical scheme in live-your-life-over movies. It does have an amazing cast though and everyone gives tremendous performances.

The story itself isn't too spectacular and Belushi does not have the leading man presence that someone like James Stewart or Nicholas Cage (in The Family Man) has. He is good for the role, but it lacks a little something. The movie does tell the moral of "be thankful for what you have" and "every life touches others and one change in a life changes the course of that life" Its pretty much the same old story.

The coolest part of the movie is just that Belushi gets to live his life over (at least one part) and that changes everything else. However, Mr. Destiny, despite the great cast, is transparent and obvious. There isn't much surprise at all in this film.

Belushi's narration gives the film a good entertaining touch. However, nothing can save this film from being any better than ordinary.
