Review:

Tim: Disney has made so many great sports movies over the years that at this point you just expect them to make a good film. Miracle even defies our expectations, ranking as one of the best of them.

Kurt Russell gives a flat out terrific performance. He is funny at times ad stern and unagreeable at others. He captures everything about Herb Brooks.

I was amazed at how well the story was told here. You will discover that Miracle is not so much a hockey movie as it is a story about what happened in the 1980 winter Olympics- not necessarily on the ice, but what the event meant for the world watching on television. I do wish there was a little more hockey action, but I understand and appreciate the need for character development, which takes up much of the film.

I've heard of so many college coaches of all different sports showing this movie before a big game. The film may be about hockey, but it is inspirational and motivational in placing its importance on hard work, discipline, and putting the team above the individual. That is pretty impressive for a film to accomplish such a feat.

The final game verses the Soviet Union is perfect. It has action, suspense, incredible hockey scenes, and best of all, patriotism. it will make you want to stand up and chant "USA, USA!"

Miracle scores a goal as one of the most emotional and entertaining sports movies in recent memory. You will enjoy this movie.
