Review:

Tim: This film was received about as well as Osama Bin Laden would be at your family's Fourth of July picnic. As is often the case, this film is better than critics give it credit for. It is a pretty intense psychological thriller. There are a remarkable number of twists and turns and the film keeps you on your toes every second. I can't remember the last time a movie jumped around and shocked the audience like this one did. This movie, in a somewhat miraculous achievement, manages to be both predictable and surprising (trust me on this one).

Val Kilmer id decent in his role. I've noticed he's taken more of these older, more mentor-like roles recently. Christian Slater is equally as good. I really like LL Cool J in movies like this (I am reminded of Deep Blue Sea). He has a tendency to work well in larger casts and position himself in the forefront and really shine. The rest of the cast is decent as well.

The film is set up very well- a small group of FBI profilers are alone on an island set up like an abandoned city. There just so happens to be a clever and psychotic killer bent on murdering as many people as possible. The FBI trainees must stop the killer as they are slowly killed one-by-one.

Mindhunters is the type of film that critics love to hate, but there is actually quite a lot worthwhile to be found here. Give it a chance and discover for yourself.
