Review:

Tim: This is a powerful drama that has it all. The film has the star power from the incredible performances of both Robert De Nero and Cuba Gooding, Jr. They both are simply amazing in this film.

If you are in the mood for drama that does not move incredibly slowly, then you have found the right film. Obviously, this film will have its slow moments, but compared to most films, it moves along quickly. Each and every scene is important, as the producers of the film did not spend a lot of time wasting scenes- you must pay attention at all times. This is the type of film that will move you, and make you think not only about the effects of racism, but of the courage of the human spirit.

I do recommend renting this film, as it is excellent. If at first, you are hesitant about watching film about a black man who faces racism while trying to be a master chief diver in the NAVY (I have to admit I didn’t think it sounded like my type of movie)- then I have to say, give this film a chance, because I am positive it will surprise you as it did me. This film tells a very good and powerful story, all the while keeping the movie entertaining a flowing. You can find better films than this one, but they are few and far between.
