Review:

Tim: This is an excellent film. Anthony Hopkins is simply splendid in his role. He really bridges the gap between the old Zorro and the new. Just as important to get an excellent older Zorro, it was so important to get an incredible actor to play the young Zorro. It had to be someone who could act refined, yet of the people. Banderas is perfect in the role. Catherine Zeta-Jones gives a wonderful performance, and brings so much to the film.

The Mask of Zorro is filled with much excitement, action, and adventure. The action scenes are incredible, and very memorable. Many of the fighting scenes are jaw-dropping. Seeing Banderas hop from horse to horse and over tree branches, or swing from places normal men shouldn't be able to are just two of the action scenes in this film. The best part of the movie is just thats its so much fun. My favorite line in the movie is between two of the bad guys. The one says, "He's just one man!" The other is upset, and yells, "Dammit, its not just one man! It's Zorro!" This sums up the best parts of the character of Zorro. He really fought for the people of Mexico.

I recommend seeing this film. It has enough action, but also great acting throughout. Antonio Banderas is excellent, and also brings a light-hearted comedic touch to the film. The real scene stealer in the film is Anthony Hopkins, who lights up every scene he is in with his incredible persona. Enough cannot be said for this man. The Mask of Zorro takes many excellent aspects and flows them together to make a film that is a lot of fun, and worth watching. I couldn't wait to buy my own copy of this film. I would recommend you do the same.
