Review:

Tim: I am a huge, huge John Cusack fan, and I love seeing him in movies like this. The film is really a heartwarming drama, but there is a hint of the mysterious, supernatural (is the kid really from Mars??) element to the film. This gives it a fresh and new feel to it. The movie should entertain across all demographics because there's enough here to appeal to you no matter what you're looking for when you go into the film.

John Cusack is excellent. He's so likeable, and so much fun when he interacts with his adopted son. He actually gets a great deal of emotional scenes, and he plays these perfectly. Bobby Coleman is good as the titular child- he just looks so bizarre and so weird throughout the movie. He's actually a little creepy. Amanda Peet and Oliver Platt (both of whom have been in films with Cusack before) also give good performances. I also liked seeing Joan Cusack in her role. The cast of the film is impressive.

Martian Child is a fun, heartwarming movie. It tells a really good story, but doesn't take itself too seriously. It never feels pompous or preachy. The story is interesting, will keep you entertained, and overall, is an enjoyable movie. Fans of John Cusack will not want to miss this film, and people interested in a different, fun movie should check this out.
