Review:

Tim: This is a film that should have been bad, but it just trudges on with heart and its own cleverness. As a result, you will find this exceedingly difficult to dislike. It's not a great movie, but it certainly is enjoyable. It is fast-paced, witty, and very clever. This all translates into quite a bit of fun. The quick pace of the film ensures that we maintain strong interest, as it takes energy just to follow the lightning-quick plot.

The cast all bring a great deal of energy to the film. I'm very wishy-washy when it comes to Josh Hartnett. Sometimes I like him, sometimes I can't stand him. Here, as the titular Slevin, he is excellent. He is very funny and charismatic. We immediately like him. Bruce Willis is similarly excellent. Willis has made a nice career of late, playing these cool characters. He is so enjoyable to watch here. Morgan Freeman and Ben Kingsley- both fantastic actors- add in tremendous supporting performances. Even Lucy Liu is very good in her role. The cast really makes this a good movie.

This film works so well because it balances action scenes with some hilarious banter. These are very good characters, and there are some really funny interactions between them. These keep the movie moving, and keep it very, very interesting.

Lucky Number Slevin is a quick-paced action movie that will keep you guessing until the very end. It is entertaining, and has enough original qualities to set itself apart from similar films. While not quite great, the movie rides its clever script and very strong cast to emerge as a very good movie.
