Review:
Tim: This is another successful entry into the terrific action-comedy franchise. This film doesn't improve on the previous two films, but continues the positives and maintains the same level of quality.
By this point, we are quite familiar with Riggs and Murtaugh. This movie does add some new elements so we don't get bored- Murtaugh's countdown to retirement and Riggs' new love interest. This, coupled with the action and comedy we've come to expect has set up a nice little film here.
Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are both great as always. It is so fun to watch these two men who are now great friends, and to think back to the rough start they got off to when they first met. It has been interesting, watching their friendship grow over three films, and they are as entertaining now as they ever were.
I really like this franchise's handling of new characters. The original featured just Gibson and Glover. The second film added Joe Pesci, and this, the third film, adds Rene Russo. This is a good way to add characters in an ongoing series of films.
Lethal Weapon 3 is a good movie. It is not the strongest film in the series, but it is what you expect, and a fun, entertaining ride. There are some good action scenes and some excellent comedy. I do enjoy this movie quite a bit.
