Review:

Tim: I am still amazed at how hilarious and enjoyable this movie is, defying all odds. This is one of those films that boldly go off the beaten path and are so different from the typical film that the sheer quirkiness serves an an enjoyment-increasing factor. This is a fun movie that sets out to purely be a fun movie.

This film gets more mileage out of the script than the vast majority of Hollywood films. The writing is absolutely superb. The dialogue is especially well written adn crisp. The actors have a great deal to work with- at the very heart of this film's success, you will find amaing writing and a director intelligent enough to let that writing translate onto the screen.

The cast is very good. Robert Downey, Jr. shows just how good he can be. He pulls us into the film with his intelligent and funny performance. He truly makes us laugh- from his exchanges with Val Kilmer, to the ridiculous situations he finds himself in (like the finger). Kilmer is over-the-top and hilarious as a gay private eye (called "Gay" Perry). These two men are perfectly matched up, and I truly enjoyed watching them together on screen. Michelle Monaghan gives a sparkling performance and I am more and more convinced she could have a long career in Hollywood.

Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang is extremely funny, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself watching it. Too few of these kinds of films are made (this good anyway), so when one comes along, you must embrace it and marvel at how entertaining it is.
