Review:

Tim: I'm actually surprised I liked this movie as much as I did. I can't help it- this romantic comedy was different and unique enough, was very funny, and incredibly enjoyable. I really, really liked this movie. I know I'm often harder on rom-coms than other genres of films, but when they work, I give them the credit deserved. This is a good movie.

You have to hand it to the cast- they are great. When I was first exposed to Mark Ruffalo, I wasn't a fan. However, after great performance after great performance, I have been sold- I'm a fan. Here, is incredibly likeably, charismatic, and fun. I loved him in this role, and he made the movie for me. Reese Witherspoon is also very, very good. While she occasionally flirts with going too over-the-top, she also manages to be very funny and enjoyable as well. Ruffalo and Witherspoon have a great deal of chemistry together. The scenes when they first meet and don't like each other are hilarious- I absolutely loved this scenes. The rest of the movie works very well also.

What I like about this movie is that it tells a good story in a unique way. The movie is lighthearted and fun- and there are too few of these movies being made today. I can count on one hand the number of films made in the last few years where I can just sit back and enjoy them- movies that don't require much of the audience, except to relax, smile, and enjoy. This movie is lightweight, but it is very fun to watch- even on repeat viewings.

Just Like Heaven is a great movie. It reminds me of films like Groundhog Day and When Harry Met Sally. I could watch it over and over, and enjoy it every time- that is a rare thing in the world of romantic comedies.
