Summary: The assassination of President John F. Kennedy is critically examined by a New Orleans District Attorney (Kevin Costner) who believes that the assassination attempt was just part of a national conspiracy, and that Lee Harvey Oswald (Gary Oldman) did not act alone. The further he gets into his investigation, the more dangerous it becomes because it soon becomes clear that someone does not want the investigation to continue.

Review:

Tim: Oliver Stone creates a powerful film that takes an in-depth and interesting look into the possible conspiracy regarding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. While he brings up some amazing arguments, keep in mind that Stone's reasoning is not all unbiased and this movie is better for thought-provoking entertainment than a factual conspiracy theory upon which we can firmly believe in.

The film succeeds so well because Stone assembles an all star cast. Everyone is in this movie. Seriously, I wonder if there are any actors in Hollywood not in this film. Kevin Costner is excellent in the leading role, adding another impressive performance to his resume. The rest of the cast all add smaller but very important roles. Of special note is Gary Oldman as Lee Harvey Oswald and Tommy Lee Jones as a corrupt businessman. Also, don't miss Kevin Bacon as a prostituting homosexual.

Oliver Stone really picks apart the JFK conspiracy. However, he takes his theory to a pretty extreme high, claiming most of the government knew or accepted the assassination plot.

Besides a bit of extremism, JFK is a great film that is full of information and interesting questions concerning one of America's darkest days.
