Review:
Tim: Is there any doubt that this is one of the most beloved motion pictures of all time? If you add up all the bits and pieces of this film I've seen over so many Christmases, I've probably seen this movie twenty times. So have most Americans.
What could be more touching thana good man, in his darkest hour, shown how much his life has meant to others? This film takes the premise that every life is so connected to every other life around it. Then, we take one man and are shown how the world would change if he had never been born.
James Stewart gives one of the greatest performances of his life. He is so likeable and friendly, but he also captures the darker, more depressing side to George Bailey. It is awe-inspiring to see him on screen.
This is one of those movies that defies time, appealing to generation after generation of moviegoers. There are parts that will make you laugh, parts that will make your heart swell up with the romance, and parts that will make you cry.
The best parts, though, are the ones that make you happy to be alive and thankful for your entire life. This movie makes you realize that it truly is a wonderful life.
