Review:

Tim: I absolutely, completely, totally love this movie. I was a bit worried that Marvel would have difficulty creating a movie that ranks up there with the Spider-Man trilogy. It has been widely stated that Iron Man is a second tier superhero. While being a huge Marvel fan, I didn't believe this to be completely true, I was interested to see how they would handle it. This film proves that with the right director and the right cast, even a "second tier" character can become a star. Iron Man is an incredible movie. It has everything you could want, and more. When I think about the potential of the thousands of Marvel characters, this movie represents the best of that potential.

Favreau also does a superb job with the special effects. Iron Man looks absolutely gorgeous, whether its the Mark II or III. I was stunned by the incredible special effects. I have to mention probably my favorite part of the movie- Iron Man's voice. The first time he speaks "He's all yours" gave me chills. It is the perfect blend of human and robot, and it is better than I ever imagined Iron Man would sound. It is this attention to detail that makes this such a terrific movie.

Favreau also balances this movie out perfectly. There is enough action, but the film spends so much time on character development that it never feels like anything was sacrificed. Favreau even throws in some completely hilarious scenes that lightened the mood. was so impressed with the perfect mix of character development, exciting action, laugh out loud humor, and heartwarming drama. If all films were made like this, my life would be greatly improved. I simply loved, loved, loved watching this movie.

Iron Man proves that with the right director and the right cast, Marvel has an absolute goldmine on their hands. This film is so amazing, and I am so excited for the sequels. This was my favorite movie of the summer, and I can't even put into words how much I love it. What a terrific movie.
