Summary: In the near future, police officer Del Spooner (Will Smith) has a grudge against the robots that work in every home in America. No one believes him, and he begins a race against time to prove he is not just paranoid.

Review:

Tim: This is an interesting and somewhat frightening look at what technology can do in the next several decades. The film is part awe-inspiring, as we see how technology can make our lives better, and part frightening, as that same technology can turn against us.

This is summer blockbuster material, and in Will Smith's capable hands, is very enjoyable to watch. Even better, this film is more imaginative and intelligent than most blockbusters.

The special effects are astounding. The robots come to very real life. The action is amazing, especially the slow motion moments where the robots flip and twist through the air, or when bullets hang for a second before crashing into their target. Bridget Moynahan is a good partner for Smith. Her straight-laced performance makes a great opposite to Smith's laid back, lighthearted banter.

Summer blockbusters too often are lightweight fluff, but I, Robot has some real substance to it. It is fun, enjoyable entertainment and a stylish, wild ride. Will Smith proves once again that he is the King of Summer Blockbusters.
