Review:

Tim: This movie received a great deal of criticism when it was initially received. People really rallied against it. While it certainly has flaws- and a few fatal ones- it is much better than people gave it credit with being. The movie is actually intense, thrilling, and occasionally chilling. The problem is the ending. The film's conclusion is so weak that it spoils everything up to that point, to the extent that it makes the entire film basically pointless. This is the biggest flaw of the movie, and the reason why it can't be regarded as a good film. It was horribly disappointing.

Nicole Kidman is mostly strong in the role. She gives a brave, intelligent performance. She's not the most heroic of protagonists, but it is generally exciting to watch her as she battles to stay awake. This is the best part of the movie. Sadly, there are not more of these scenes. Daniel Craig is decentm but by no means spectacular. In fact, he gets seemingly worse the longer the movie goes on.

The Invasion does a few things right, but the few flaws it does have are fatal. It brings the movie down several levels. Instead of a strong sci-fi thriller, we are given an occasionally chilling film that ultimately topples upon itself. The end result is a bit jumbled and too silly for its own good.
