Review:
Tim: This is probably the saddest statement in all of Hollywood- this movie is perhaps director Uwe Boll's masterpiece. That is shocking, considering how godawful this movie is. It is such a weak, stupid movie, with terrible writing and pitiful direction. What boggles my mind is how a hack like Boll managed to convince so many good actors to trash their career in this debacle. It is unbelievable.
I actually really like the idea of Jason Statham in a medieval action fantasy movie. He is as good as he could be, considering how shackled he was by the awful script. Leelee Sobieski is pretty much a waste. John Rhy-Davies looks like he's just grasping for straws after The Lord of the Rings trilogy ended. Claire Forlani is decent, but anyone could have played her role. Kristanna Loken is worthless. Matthew Lillard is completely unbelievable in every single aspect of his role. Ray Liotta just looks silly as he gives a far too over-the-top performance. Burt Reynolds might as well hang it up, because he's only further tarnishing his already-tarnished legacy. The whole cast leaves a great deal to be desired.
One of the worst aspects of this film is that perhaps the worst director of all time, Uwe Boll, puts this film at 127 minutes. That is monumentally too long, and I hate him for his arrogance. God, this movie sucks.
If you didn't know it by now that you should avoid Uwe Boll movies at all costs, this one should pretty much be the final nail in the coffin for his career (but, this is Hollywood, so of course it won't be). All I can say is please, please, stay away from this piece of crap. This movie sucks.
